Tarzan räddar en arkeologisk expedition från Molocs banditgäng. Expeditionen består av Rick Astred, hans fru Ana Astred och kollegan Otto Kramer. De söker Vishetens dal, där kung Salomos mytomspunna tempel lär ligga. Tarzan visar vägen och hjälper dem att motstå Molocs attacker. Väl framme i templet försöker Otto Kramer döda dem för att få alla skatter för sig själv. Han blir dock förstenad. De andra slås medvetslösa och utsätts för olika prövningar innan en gammal man "som hör till templet" ber dem lämna platsen. Var det självaste Salomo? Han säger att Tarzan är välkommen tillbaka – ensam.
