Djungel hemsöks av en vargman, egentligen äventyraren Richard Trell som en gång bitits av en yeti i Himalaya och nu förvandlas till en varulv i fullmånens sken. Tarzan lovar hjälpa honom hitta botemedlet, en svart blomma som bara växer i ett särskilt farofyllt träsk. De bägge tas till fånga av pygméer och ska offras till jättespindlar, men med hjälp av Richards varulvskrafter bryter de sig loss och Tarzan botar Richard med blomman.
