Dark Horse's 1996 take on Edgar Rice Burroughs' jungle lord delivers a genuinely unsettling cover: Tarzan and a roaring great ape confront a massive, nightmare-scaled spider, its patterned abdomen dominating the left side of the frame while skeletal remains litter the jungle floor below — grim evidence of past encounters. Arthur Suydam's cover pencils and inks give the scene a raw, painterly tension that feels right at home in the Dark Horse era. With Bruce Jones writing and Christopher Schenck on interiors, "Tarzan's Jungle Fury Part Two" promises the kind of pulpy, creature-filled adventure Burroughs fans live for.
