This anthology issue contains two main stories. "18 Men and a Boat" depicts eighteen men who survive a Japanese assault on their vessel during World War II and escape in a 36-foot boat, eventually reaching Australia; the final panel announces that Lt. Commander Morell will describe their dangerous voyage in the next installment. "River Rising" follows young Tommy Burke as he attempts to cross a flooded Illinois River bridge on his bicycle to help his family during a flood emergency, but is stopped by a State trooper. A third story features espionage agents discovering that Nazis have hidden a radio transmitter inside a boiler, leading to a confrontation where the agents recover the device and apprehend the enemy operatives.
