“Flight of the Sky-raker”
About this Collection

This issue kicks off the 'Flight of the Sky-Raker' storyline, a multi-part adventure from the early days of Disney's TaleSpin comic series. It features Baloo, Kit Cloudkicker, and the crew of the Sea Duck as they get tangled in a high-stakes aerial caper involving a mysterious new aircraft. Published in June 1991, this is the first issue of the series, adapting the beloved animated show's characters and tone into comic form.

"Flight of the Sky-raker" kicks off in the world of TaleSpin with a curious twist: when mechanic Wildcat tosses a greasy rag after servicing an engine, a passing stranger sees unexpected value in it—offering a fortune for the simple cloth. The story unfolds with a surreal, offbeat charm as the rag’s journey takes an unexpected turn, leading to a museum display that raises more questions than answers. Written by Bobbi JG Weiss and brought to life by Horacio Saavedra’s art, with inks by Robert Bat and colors by Michele Wolfman, the cover by Rick Hoover captures the mystery in bold, striking detail.
