Tales from the Crypt #2

Sep 1990 · Gladstone · 1.95 USD; 2.50 CAD
“By the Fright of the Silvery Moon!”

In "By the Fright of the Silvery Moon!", a blind criminal confined to a hospital room relies on the eerie, detailed tales of a neighboring patient to map the world outside—only to discover that imagination can be as dangerous as the real thing. Written, drawn, and inked by Johnny Craig, with vibrant colors by Marie Severin and letters by Jim Wroten, this chilling tale from Tales from the Crypt #2 (1990) blends suspense and psychological unease in a story that lingers long after the final panel. The cover, by Jack Davis, captures the story’s unsettling mood with its signature macabre flair.

When a criminal wakes up in the hospital, he panics when he realizes he has gone blind! An old man in the bed next to him likes to tell stories about things he sees out the window, and the crook listens carefully, picturing the area in his mind. Finally confident that he has the lay of the land, he makes a break for it out the window. But, it's not at all like he expected. It turns out the old man has a vivid imagination.
