Written by Barbara Friedlander and Jack Miller, with art by Joe Orlando and inks by Mike Esposito, the story takes a delightfully surreal turn as the scientist, having achieved his mind-transplant goal, is utterly stumped on what to do next—leading to a surprising reversal. The cover, also by Orlando and Esposito, captures the absurd charm of the tale.
When Scooter and his friends are turned into sentient veggies by the eccentric Professor Kitchykoo Caramba, they find themselves trapped in a bizarre vegetable world—only to discover their captor has no real plan for world domination. With the mad scientist suddenly at a loss, the group must figure out how to get back to normal before their vegetable forms become permanent.
When Cookie steps on a fortune-telling scale and learns the boy of her dreams will ask her to go steady, she’s convinced it’s Scooter—especially with their date later that afternoon. But as she nervously waits, Penny and Cynthia watch the drama unfold, each wondering if love might be just a wheel away.
