In "Sweets: A New Orleans Crime Story, Part 4 of 5," Detective Curt Delatte grapples with the aftermath of his partner Jeff’s death as he pushes forward with the investigation despite orders to step back. Digging deeper on his own, Curt uncovers a hidden key that leads to an abandoned laundry, where a chilling collection of newspaper clippings reveals a dark connection to his own past — including the unsolved death of his daughter. Written and illustrated by Kody Chamberlain, this emotionally charged installment builds tension with quiet dread, all rendered in the creator’s distinctive, immersive style. The cover by Kody Chamberlain captures the story’s somber, haunting mood.
