"Alone" tells the story of a young woman named Cora whose father opposes her relationship with a man named Dan. After her father forbids her to see Dan again, Cora dates him secretly one final time, during which Dan tries unsuccessfully to convince her to run away with him. When Cora refuses and they part ways, a stranger named Bert attacks her, but Dan emerges from the shadows to fight him off. Later, Cora's father shows her a film meant to demonstrate the dangers of independence, but it backfires when Cora realizes she wants to see the world and pursue her own dreams. "Fateful Journey" follows a young woman named Kathy whose mother reveals that Kathy's father Floyd abandoned them years ago; Kathy becomes determined to find him and seek his forgiveness, eventually locating him and arranging a date at the Blue Bowl, where she hopes to reconcile with him despite her mother's disapproval.
