This issue contains three romantic stories. "A Humbled Heart" follows a woman who, feeling humiliated by her boyfriend's family, schemes to make him jealous by flirting with another man at a boxing match, only to have her plan backfire. "Desertion" depicts a middle-aged woman named Alicia Lehigh who has secretly been dating a young lawyer named Ralph Beecher; when Ralph announces his engagement to Janet Beecher, Alicia seeks revenge by attempting to sabotage the relationship. "The Lonely One" tells the story of a young woman named Eve who falls in love with Steve, a college student; when Steve must leave to pursue his studies, Eve struggles with their separation but ultimately accepts their future apart.
