It features the initial story arc by writer Martin Pasko and artist Tom Yeates, before Alan Moore's legendary run redefined the series. The collection includes the first several issues that established the new ongoing narrative for the plant elemental creature in the DC Universe.
In "Chapter 1: Dark Genesis," the Swamp Thing’s fate hangs in the balance as a mystical transformation threatens to reclaim his humanity—only for Arcane to seize the body meant for redemption. Written by Len Wein and illustrated with haunting precision by Berni Wrightson, this pivotal issue explores the fragile line between man and monster, with cover art by Wrightson that captures the story’s eerie, otherworldly tone.
