Swamp Thing #33

Swamp Thing finds himself in dire straits on Jesús Saiz's visceral cover for this September 2014 New 52 installment — the mossy green avatar of the Green is locked in a savage, three-way grapple with two hulking, demonic red creatures, all gnashing teeth and grasping claws against a hellish crimson backdrop. The tagline "Hunted by Hell Itself!" sets the tone for "The Wolf and the Lady, Part One," the opening chapter of a new arc from writer Charles Soule and artist Javier Pina. If you like your horror-tinged superhero comics with a genuine sense of threat and atmosphere, this one's hard to pass up.
