The fourth and final issue of this 2007 Image miniseries brings things to a head with a blistering cover by Cory Walker, depicting the red-white-and-blue-armored SuperPatriot mid-brawl against a hulking yellow-suited adversary atop a heap of defeated, rubble-strewn enemies — all set against a dramatic sky of billowing orange smoke. The chaotic battlefield backdrop and the energy of that airborne clash make it clear that Robert Kirkman and Benito Cereno's story is heading toward a satisfyingly intense conclusion, with art from E.J. Su inside. A worthy send-off for fans of hard-hitting superhero action with a patriotic edge.
