Superman / Wonder Woman #3

Issue #3 of this New 52 team-up series puts the power couple under serious pressure, with the cover — penciled by Tony S. Daniel and inked by Matt Banning — showing a battered Wonder Woman gripping her sword and a visibly strained Superman with glowing red eyes, both flanking the looming, one-eyed purple form of Zod dominating the center. The tagline "Zod Returns!" leaves little to the imagination about what's threatening them, while "From One Universe to Another…" hints at a conflict operating on a grand scale. Writer Charles Soule and the art team were clearly building toward something formidable in this early chapter of the series.
