Superman: The Man of Steel #91

Superman's presence saturates every corner of Metropolis — logos plastered across storefronts, giant faces rendered in street-level murals, canned goods stacked in a shop window — and yet the nervous, hunched figure scurrying along the sidewalk looks like he'd rather not be seen at all. The cover by Doug Mahnke and Tom Nguyen turns the city itself into a surveillance state, with the Man of Steel's image inescapable no matter where this shadowy pedestrian turns. It's a wonderfully unsettling piece of visual storytelling that sets an intriguing tone for "Nemesis," brought to life by the creative team of Rozum, Schultz, and Adlard.
