Superman Géant #10
In "La grande frayeur de Superman," Superman faces a threat unlike any he’s known—when a deranged scientist’s crystal formula begins turning everything it touches to stone, the Man of Steel must confront a crisis that even his strength can’t immediately stop. Written by Denny O'Neil and illustrated by Jim Aparo with inks by Aparo and colors by Jerry Serpe, this 1980 French edition delivers a tense, visually striking tale where the line between hero and villain blurs. The cover by Ross Andru and Dick Giordano captures the moment of dread, a 60-cent comic in 1980 that remains a standout in the series’ run.

Batman and Ra's Al Ghul have to work together in order to find Professor Hatter, whose crystal formula can crystalize all other matter. When the League of Assassins kill the Professor's brother, Hatter is overcome by sorrow and vows to destroy the world with his formula. The trail leads to a junk outside the coast of Hong Kong, where Batman and Ra's Al Ghul are able to neutralize the effect of the formula by spraying themselves and the sea with silicone.
