“Codename: Patriot Part 4”

In "Codename: Patriot Part 4," Superman is pulled from the front lines of a tense international summit when a desperate call from Alura summons him back to Krypton. As the US president meets with Markovian leaders, Superman races to intercept Ral-Dar, who claims the United States is planning to attack Krypton—just as General Lane, now revealed as the mastermind behind the "Codename: Patriot" operation, unleashes a coordinated assault on the Kryptonians in full view of the world. With Mirabai, Metallo, and Reactron exposed as part of a long-planned deception, and the fate of Mon-El hanging in the balance, Superman must confront both a government turned against him and the chilling truth behind Lane’s years-long conspiracy, all while the fate of Krypton hangs in the balance. Written by James Robinson and illustrated by Renato Guedes, Eduardo Pansica, and a team of inkers and colorists, with a cover by Fernando Dagnino and Raúl Fernández, this pivotal issue deepens the mystery of alien threats and human paranoia in a story that reshapes the DC Universe’s political landscape.

"Supergirl" lures Mon-El into Metropolis' sewers, where he is ambushed by "Nightwing" and "Flamebird", and then by "Supergirl" herself, all recorded by General Lane for public consumption. After the recording is turned off, "Supergirl" reveals herself as Mirabai and the others as Metallo and Reactron, who take out Mon-El. General Lane orders explosives in the sewers to be blown, causing the ground to shake as Metropolis loses its water supply, and then has Morgan Edge broadcast the recorded footage. Meanwhile, the US president arrives in Markovia to meet with its leaders, and Ral-Dar zooms there, hotly pursued by Superman. As they fight, Ral-Dar says the US is planning to attack Krypton, and is about to reveal who told him that when General Lane appears in public for the first time with his army, and fires on the Kryptonians. Superman survives the attack, but it appears that Ral-Dar does not. Superman and General Lane argue back and forth, but before Superman can clear anything up with the authorities, he is called back to Krypton by Alura. Later, General Lane reveals he has been plotting this "Codename: Patriot" project for years, since he has seen the threat of alien races. We also find out that he has transferred his base to Mirabai's world, a world of magic. And Morgan Edge continues to spin the events of the day against the Kryptonians, saying that they killed Mon-El, and even questioning Superman's motives.
