Part of DC's 2013 New 52 "Villains Month" event, this issue hands the spotlight entirely to Parasite — and Aaron Kuder's cover makes an immediate, visceral impression, with the massive purple creature lunging a grotesque, clawed hand directly at the viewer while a withered, drained Superman writhes helplessly in the background. The stark yellow backdrop peppered with skulls and radiation symbols frames the monster's raw menace beautifully, with Tomeu Morey's colors giving Parasite's lumpy, imposing form an almost sickly vibrancy.
