Superman and Mongul head into the depths of space to confront Imperiex, but once Imperiex's ship is destroyed, Mongul turns on Superman. However, Superman has planned for this eventuality and puts down Mongul, hands him over to Lobo, and gets home in time to celebrate Christmas with his wife. Meanwhile, in deep space the true face of Imperiex is revealed.
