Superman kann einen Raub von seltenen radioaktiven Elementen durch SKULL-Agenten scheinbar verhindern. Durch den Kampf mit den Verbrechern wird ein Laserstrahl abgelenkt, der ein Gebäudeteil zum Einsturz bringt. Ein scheinbar unbeteiligter Mann wird darunter verschüttet. Durch die SKULL Organisation gelingt es den Ärzten sein Leben zu retten und sie machen aus ihn den zweiten Metallo - dem Gegner Supermans mit dem Kryptonitherzen. Die SKULL-Agenten entführen Steve Lombard und locken Superman in einen tödliche Kryptonit-Falle.
