Superman #12/1967
In "Clark Kent 'Staatsfeind Nr. 1'", a cunning criminal manipulates Jimmy Olsen into believing he’s been exposed to radiation, driving him to a remote cave to face what he thinks is his end. Desperate, Jimmy pleads with the man he believes to be Superman—only to be told the hero’s true identity is Clark Kent, a revelation that sets off a chain of suspicion. Written by Otto Binder and illustrated by Curt Swan with inks by Ray Burnley, this 1967 tale unfolds with quiet tension, as Jimmy’s loyalty to Clark Kent becomes the key to uncovering the deception. The cover, a striking collaboration by Curt Swan, Sheldon Moldoff, George Klein, and Joe Giella, captures the moment of doubt with eerie precision.
