Superboy and the Ravers #16

This December 1997 issue of Superboy and the Ravers makes an immediate impression with a cover by Paul Pelletier and Dan Davis that splits a figure's face right down the middle — one half a scowling, red-tinted human visage, the other a lurid green skull with dripping, dissolving flesh. The title "Half-Life of the Party" hints at a dual-nature threat lurking within this team adventure. With Karl Kesel and Steve Mattsson co-writing and Josh Hood on interior art, it's a compelling package from DC's mid-'90s young-hero lineup.
