The cover by penciller Tom Grummett and inker Karl Kesel says it all — a massive stone creature called Grokk the Living Gargoyle has Superboy firmly in its rocky grip, the young hero dangling helplessly against a sickly green background while a shadowy figure lurks at the edge of the scene. The cover copy teases that as dangerous as Grokk is, an "all-new Hex" promises something even more unsettling in store. Writer Karl Kesel and artist Scott Kolins deliver what looks like a bruising, villain-packed issue from September 1998 that fans of action-heavy superhero comics will want to track down.
