Ein Legionär nach dem Anderen unterliegt der Übermacht der Angreifer. Brainiac 5 sucht verzweifelt nach einer Waffe, die gegen den Todeskreis helfen kann und wünscht sich, daß Karateboy da wäre. Wie aus dem Nichts erscheint dieser und verschafft Brainic 5 die nötige Pause. Brainy kommt dahinter, daß es sich bei der Lieferung des seltsamen Apparates nur um eine Zaubermaschine der Controller handeln kann, denen die Legion einmal beistand. Mit Hilfe seiner Gedanken kann Brainiac 5 die Angreifer vertreiben und das Legion-Hauptquartier fertigstellen.
