The cover of this September 1969 issue, rendered by Neal Adams, presents a genuinely unsettling image: a crowd of terrified onlookers — including a screaming woman with flowing blonde hair and a man recoiling in shock — stare upward as an army of identical Superboys descends upon them in eerie, repeating rows. The title banner, "The Day It Rained Superboys!", promises a story from Frank Robbins, Bob Brown, and Wally Wood that plays with one of the most disorienting concepts a young Kal-El could face — himself, multiplied endlessly. It's a striking late-Silver Age package that captures DC at its most imaginatively strange.
