This May 1946 Dell anthology brings together a terrific lineup of newspaper strip favorites under one cover — Dick Tracy, Smitty, Orphan Annie, Tiny Tim, Winnie Winkle, and Harold Teen, each previewed in cheerful portrait vignettes along the right-hand side. The cover scene itself is a lively urban moment: a stern, green-hatted Dick Tracy points an accusatory finger at a wide-eyed, clearly rattled suspect against a backdrop of an elevated structure, a yellow ACME truck, and city buildings. For a dime in 1946, this was genuinely great value — six beloved comic strip characters collected in a single, energetic package.
