In the jungles of South America, a dying Professor Morgan entrusts John Riaz with a mysterious secret before vanishing. After a perilous journey by rowboat that leaves him disoriented and memory-blurred, John follows the professor’s cryptic instructions—rubbing himself with strange plants and drinking from a giant bird’s egg. When he returns to the flooded city of Verazil, he must defend himself with a small wooden sword against a monstrous, towering lizard, discovering that the Baka wood—and the ancient safeguards it holds—may be the key to surviving what lies ahead.
