"John and Joan: On the Spot" follows the young photographers as they travel to the Cornish seaside town of Tregethon for a holiday with their family and their dog Rover. "Susan Starr: The Girl Reporter" (by Peter Halliford) finds Susan investigating otter hunts in the countryside, where she becomes caught between huntsmen trying to stop an illegal hunt and a wounded man dragging a mysterious sack, ultimately helping to stop the hunt and earning a commendation. The issue also includes "Pierified Valley," "Secret Harbour," "When They Were Young," "Kiddyheart," "Nature Talks: An Adder—Beware!," a seaside puzzle competition, and "Sammy Shuteye and the Perfect Pick."
