Submarine Attack #44
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe murky depths of Cold War tension come alive on Dick Giordano's cover, where a sleek black submarine numbered 534 cuts through green-tinted waters while a second, lighter vessel looms in pursuit above it. The exchange of dialogue — "Still have contact, sir! I say it's a sub!" met with "There isn't a sub anywhere could match our speed!" — sets up a taut undersea cat-and-mouse scenario for "The Shadow of Evil." Charlton's Submarine Attack was delivering this kind of gripping naval suspense with real craft in 1964, and this issue, written by Joe Gill with interior art by Bill Montes and Ernie Bache, is a fine example of the series at full throttle.
