Styx #[nn]
This French-language collection brings together the early adventures of Styx, a mysterious and brooding fantasy series originally serialized in the 1990s by Le Lombard. The volume compiles the opening story arcs, following the titular hero through a dark, medieval-inspired world filled with magic and intrigue. Known for its atmospheric artwork and complex narrative, this edition offers a definitive starting point for readers discovering the series.
In Styx #nn (1995), private detective Le quartier-maître Laurel Hardy—now stationed at a wartime morgue under Colonel Bootshill thanks to a favor from his brother Frank—finds himself entangled in a web of secrets. Assigned to a mysterious mission by Mayor Doomsday, a collector of the occult, he also takes on a second case from Sarah Poodle, seeking answers about her father Henry Poodle’s sudden death. As a strange new drug called the crash spreads through the city, Hardy must navigate deception, shadowy figures, and the growing tension between his two investigations—each pulling him deeper into a conspiracy he never expected. Written and illustrated by Foerster, with inks by Andreas, and featuring cover art by Philippe Foerster and Andreas, this 1995 Le Lombard release blends noir intrigue with surreal undertones in a world where nothing is quite as it seems.
