Studio Epix #8 (8/1987)
Enki Bilal's haunting visual sensibility is on full display in this 1987 Swedish-language edition from Epix, where a pale, blue-haired woman with tear-streaked eyes dominates the foreground while a brooding, bare-chested red-haired man holds a small black cat behind her — and a large dark bird looms ominously between them amid crumbling surroundings. Bilal both wrote and illustrated "Lockfågeln," pouring his signature melancholic atmosphere into every line of the cover art. The juxtaposition of the weeping figure and the raw, ruined backdrop makes this a compelling entry in Studio Epix's lineup.
