År 2025 skriver journalisten Jill Bioskop på en artikelserie om stridigheter mellan minoriteter i London. Hennes utomjordiske vän, alferatziern John, dör i ett attentat och i sin sorg tar Jill piller för att radera minnet av John. Sedan följer en serie märkliga händelser.
