Enki Bilal's haunting visual sensibility is on full display in this 1987 Swedish-language edition from Epix, where a pale, blue-haired woman with tear-streaked eyes dominates the foreground while a brooding, bare-chested red-haired man holds a small black cat behind her — and a large dark bird looms ominously between them amid crumbling surroundings. Bilal both wrote and illustrated "Lockfågeln," pouring his signature melancholic atmosphere into every line of the cover art.
