This is an anthology issue containing at least two stories. "Life in the Hollow Tree" follows Mr. Pollard, who is lured into a towering oak tree by his wife Sheila, who threatens that he may never see her again unless he enters the tree's hollow interior. A subsequent story titled "Beyond the Graves" involves Police Chief Henry Larmer investigating a grave digger named Arthur Ritter at Mount Hope Cemetery, who claims to hear voices from the dead—specifically from deceased gangster Joie Mozo, who allegedly reveals the location of hidden stolen securities worth fifty thousand dollars. The Chief tests Ritter's claims and discovers complications when a wanted industrialist named William Morgan and the recently deceased Mrs. Morgan become involved in Ritter's supernatural communications.
