In "C'est ainsi que tout commença...", a cosmic observer from a long-dead, hyper-advanced civilization recounts the fateful moment their people first tried to guide a younger race—only for their well-intentioned gift to end in catastrophe. The story lingers on the weight of that choice, and the vow that followed: to never again interfere.
