The cover of this fourth issue from BOOM! Studios is a quietly haunting piece of design: a man's silhouette in profile is rendered in cool grays, while within the negative space of his form burns a vivid tropical scene — palm trees, fire, and a blood-red sky pressed together in stark contrast to the bare, skeletal trees surrounding him. Cover artist Evan Cagle uses the double-exposure technique to suggest a mind or a past that refuses to stay buried, which feels entirely at home in Jeff Loveness and Lisandro Estherren's Cold War supernatural series.
