“Secret of the Eternal City”

In "Secret of the Eternal City," an Earth archaeologist is suddenly whisked away by a zeta-beam to the distant planet Rann, where he meets the enigmatic Alanna and the scientist Sardath. Facing an invasion by the mysterious alien force known as The Eternals, the trio embarks on a perilous journey to the hidden, Brigadoon-like city of Samakand in search of a rare life-metal called vitatron. Written by Gardner Fox and Edmond Hamilton, with dynamic art by Mike Sekowsky and inks by Frank Giacoia and Joe Giella, this 1969 adventure blends cosmic mystery and ancient wonder. The striking cover, a bold collaboration by Neal Adams in both pencils and inks, captures the otherworldly tension of the tale.
