DC's Strange Adventures was delivering some of the most imaginative science-fiction of 1951, and this October issue makes that promise impossible to miss. Cover artist Gil Kane stages a tense confrontation as Captain Comet — in his bold red-and-blue uniform — squares off against a wave of towering grey Stone Men advancing through a fiery, explosive backdrop, while he shields a red-haired woman at his side. With the cover teasing "the most terrifying theft in the world — when Stone Men from the stars steal the Earth," Murphy Anderson and Sy Barry's interior story "When the Earth Was Kidnaped!" sounds like exactly the kind of cosmic, high-stakes adventure this anthology series did so well.
