Straight Arrow witnesses Native American artists creating paintings and observes warriors paddling a birch canoe, eventually arriving at a Mohawk longhouse settlement where he encounters the mourning nation grieving the death of their great leader Hiawatha, who was slain by Mingo arrows. Straight Arrow pursues the villain Black Feather across the landscape, engaging in combat and confrontations as Black Feather attempts to escape with stolen mail, culminating in a final showdown where Straight Arrow commands his men to capture the criminal.
