As Steve Adams and Packy attempt to move the broken herd toward the salt lick, Red Hawk encounters mysterious supernatural events—a giant in the mist and spirit warriors—that he attributes to the Great Manitou and the spirit of Tanta. Straight Arrow intervenes to break up the riders' posse pursuing the vigilantes, scaling a ridge to prevent further bloodshed and expose the truth: the "ghosts" are actually the Hooper Riders, human men who can be defeated and unmasked.
Straight Arrow and his pal Packy discover a hidden tunnel behind No-Pass Mountain that leads to Navalaya, a secret valley harboring an ancient civilization that has isolated itself from the outside world for centuries. When the two adventurers are caught exploring the mysterious city, they must navigate a treacherous web of palace intrigue, false accusations, and a conspirator's plot to overthrow the chief—all while sworn to protect the valley's existence. Their survival and loyalty are tested in ways they never expected in this tale of discovery and honor.
When a ruthless profiteer named Lard Nevins seizes control of the salt lick—the only water source the local ranchers can access for their cattle—he sets off a chain of deception that pits the settlers and the Comanche against each other. Straight Arrow must uncover the truth behind a treaty Nevins claims gives him absolute ownership, race to recover the original government document that could prove the land was never Nevins' to sell, and stop a ruthless scheme designed to force desperate ranchers to surrender their herds for a fraction of their worth. With time running out and Nevins' hired guns blocking every path, the Comanche warrior rides hard to prevent a catastrophe that would destroy both peoples.
When scouts discover promising hunting grounds in the Yellowstone Valley, Red Hawk is sent to guide his Cheyenne tribe to the new land—but encounters a towering figure the tribe's medicine man claims is a vengeful spirit demanding tributes and slaves. Red Hawk realizes the "giant" is no god but a massive Osage warrior, and must find a way to prove it to his people before the deception costs them everything, including his sister Dawn Spirit.
A ruthless gang of hooded riders known as the Ghost Gang strikes across the frontier with brutal precision, vanishing without a trace after each robbery—until Straight Arrow makes a dangerous gamble to discover their hidden lair. When the leader, a masked brute called the Hook, proves nearly impossible to track, Straight Arrow devises a risky plan: let himself be captured and follow the gang to their secret hideout. What waits inside the mountain sanctuary may be more than even the stalwart warrior bargained for.
