From Belgian publisher Dupuis comes this 2021 entry in Pierre Bailly and Céline Fraipont's Stoppeltje series, subtitled Fort Drol. The cover sets a gloriously absurd medieval tone: a scowling, rotund jester figure in orange robes — flies buzzing around a stray chicken perched on their head — squares off against the little fuzzy Stoppeltje character peeking out from a wooden barrel, a clothespin clipped to their nose. A sword, a potty, and a roll of toilet paper scattered across the tiled floor complete the charmingly chaotic scene, promising the kind of irreverent, kid-friendly humor the series does so well.
