Steve Roper investigates a case involving Dr. Schwine, who has set a trap with an electric eye beam and alarm to catch prowlers. After discovering mud prints at a crime scene and determining their size using a ruler and brick, Steve apprehends Dr. Schwine, who confesses to killing someone but vows never to pay for his crime. Dr. Schwine escapes across a college campus, and Steve pursues him. Meanwhile, at a gentlemen's club, a man named "Meatless" is found dead, having been poisoned by a dissatisfied customer seeking to quiet his nerves.
