The cover of Stern #2 — "De Stad van de Wilden" — is a striking visual declaration, with a dark-clad figure leaping defiantly above a writhing crowd of grotesque, masked, and weathered faces that surge upward from below. Julien Maffre's cover art (with inks also by Maffre) packs every inch with menace and movement, the lone figure's raised fist contrasting sharply against the chaotic mob beneath him. Published by Dargaud Benelux in 2017, this Dutch-language Western from Frédéric Maffre and Julien Maffre promises something far stranger and wilder than the open frontier.
