Two heroes sprint for their lives across a splintering wooden surface as a massive mecha crashes down behind them — the "Mecha Madness" tagline says it all for issue five of DC's Steelworks. The cover by Rafa Sandoval crackles with kinetic energy, placing a red-haired woman in a white-and-red suit and a bald figure in a dark Superman-emblazoned costume front and center, debris exploding all around them. Part of the Dawn of DC initiative, this chapter — "Power Trip" — promises the kind of high-stakes, tech-driven tension that writer Michael Dorn and artist Sami Basri have been building throughout the series.
