Steel throws himself into a chaotic mid-air brawl against multiple armed opponents on the cover of this 1995 DC series installment, with a mysterious glowing figure looking on from the background. Part 2 of 3 in the "Maximum Orbit" storyline, "Showdown" promises exactly what the title suggests — and the cover by penciler Chris Batista and inker Dennis Janke delivers a kinetic, crowded clash that feels genuinely urgent. Louise Simonson and Chris Batista's creative partnership was hitting its stride by issue #12, making this a fine snapshot of mid-'90s DC action.
