A night at the movies turns decidedly unusual in this 1995 Milestone/DC team-up, as Static — wearing his "D. Phat Man" cap and sitting wide-eyed in a theater seat — finds himself surrounded by the rough-and-tumble crew of the Blood Syndicate packed into the rows behind him, popcorn and all. Wilfred Santiago's cover renders the Syndicate's roster with vibrant energy, from armored heavyweights to a snake-limbed figure lurking at the edge of the frame. With the story titled "In Search of the Phatman," Ivan Velez Jr. and Santiago promise a collision of Static's world with one of Milestone's most dangerous super-teams — and it looks like nobody came just to watch the film.
