Starstruck #4

IDW's Starstruck continues its richly imaginative run with this fourth issue, featuring a cover by the creative team of Elaine Lee, Michael Wm. Kaluta, and Lee Moyer. The cover depicts a young blonde girl in a red dress, gripping a green bow and accompanied by a small green parrot, surrounded by a wonderfully chaotic heap of toys, dolls, ribbons, and curious objects — a vignette at the bottom also hints at winged figures and the promise of the Galactic Girl Guides. It's a visually dense, storybook-tinged image that captures exactly the kind of whimsical-yet-adventurous spirit that has made this 2009 series such a distinctive presence on the shelf.
