Darth Vader dominates this cover in full predatory stride, red lightsaber ignited and cutting through the haze as he crouches atop what appears to be a downed vessel or Imperial hardware — every line of his posture radiating raw, unchecked menace. The cover tagline "Vader Alone! Vader the Savage!" perfectly sets the tone for "The Savage Heart," a 2003 Dark Horse story from writer Paul Alden and artist Raúl Treviño. Francisco Ruiz Velasco's cover work gives the Dark Lord an almost feral energy that makes this issue genuinely hard to put down unread.
