Star Wars #17

Part of Marvel's 2021 "War of the Bounty Hunters" crossover event, this issue — subtitled "The Chase" — promises exactly the kind of high-velocity tension its cover delivers. A helmeted Luke Skywalker fills the left side of the frame, his expression taut and focused, while an X-wing tears through space firing green laser blasts at a pursuing TIE fighter, all set against the looming, dark visage of Darth Vader dominating the right side of the composition. Carlo Pagulayan and Jason Paz bring a real sense of breathless momentum to the image, making it easy to see why Charles Soule, Ramón Rosanas, and Rachelle Rosenberg's ongoing run continues to hold such appeal for Star Wars fans.
