After escaping a trap set by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance and an assassination attempt aboard the Enterprise, Picard is summoned back to Earth to face the Imperial leadership who are disappointed with his results since taking command of the ISS Enterprise-D. Picard comes up with new plan which starts with retrieving the mirror universe Barclay from the prime universe to take advantage of his knowledge to launch an attack against the prime universe.
