Shortly after Seven of Nine has joined the crew, Voyager answers a distress call from an alien ship which needs repairs. As Seven helps teach the aliens how to repair their ship, she learns that there are two factions among the aliens, an elitist group know as the Kz'Ar who lead, and a worker group known as the Vesh who are exploited for their labor.
