Kirk, Uhura, and Uhura's parallel universe counterpart have boarded a Romulan ship to find Akris and disable his weapon of mass destruction before it can be used on the inhabitants of a nearby planet. While Genral Uhura plans to kill Akris to stop him, Kirk is unaware that Akris needs to be taken alive so that McCoy can use Akris' genetic material to save the life of Chekov. Meanwhile, Spock and the Enterprise encounter a Romulan ship while trying to rescue Kirk and company.
